May 1, 2020 Pastor’s Garage
May 1, 2020
So just to address the elephant in the room right off the bat! As I’m sure most of you know by now, due to how small town rumour mills operate, pastor Dave was taken to the hospital yesterday by ambulance with some cardiac concerns. They ruled out heart attack, the heart is healthy but there is some inflamation around the heart so they are doing some tests to try and determine exactly what is going on. At this point, while still serious, it doesnt appear to be life threatening. Please keep them in your prayers and respect their privacy. It is their story to tell and they will share more when they think its appropriate and know more.
As I sit in my office this morning I didnt want to just go on “business as usual”, but also the Apostle Paul’s comments on these momentary afflictions came to mind. In the midst of lifes hickups it’s important to keep a eternal perspective in all that we go through. This life is easy to focus on because its all that we really know, BUT its not all that there really is! We were made for eternity! Last Sunday in the Sunday experience I had shared the a new video of the song Because He Lives. I’m gonna put the link to that video below again and I would encourge you to play it again. Let the inner teenager in you out and turn up the volume! More! Shake the windows! If you dont have a good stereo put on some ear phones! We need to hear this song loudly in our lives this morning! Because He lives, I can face tomorrow! Because He lives all fear is gone! Because I know He hold the future, and life is worth the living just because He lives!
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” 2 Cor. 4:16-18
