Pastor Mike’s Garage April 15th, 2021
April 15, 2021
Sleigh bells ring, are yah listening? Wow, who would have thought a
week ago when we were barbequing, biking, going for warm evening walks, and
cleaning up our yards preparing for the green grass, that a week later we
would be in the throes of winter once again? This is literally more snow on
the ground than we have had at any one time in the last four or five years!
Yah just gotta love the weather in Sask! How you feeling? Literally?
Physically? Mentally? Spiritually? I won’t lie to you, while I am fully
aware of how desperately we needed the moisture, and do appreciate this
snow, part of me wants to curl up in the fetal position in my office and
cry. I was sooooo longing for the warm and colour of spring. I know, I
know, it’s only gonna postpone spring for a week or two and the moisture in
this snow will definitely give life once it melts.
My intention for this pastor’s garage is just to give a warm hug to
those who need it. I know some of us are going through some hard things
right now. Many of us are just sick and tired of winter, covid, etc. etc.
and just want life to get back to some semblance of normal. Chances are
that all of us have a thing or two we struggle with in life! It’s easy to
let the big things, and the little things, in life get us down! We are all
prone to failure, distraction, weakness, discouragement, and despondency at
times. You are not alone in your struggle! And even if you are seemingly
alone in your specific struggle, there are those who care! And even if it
seems as though there are none who understand or care, you have a heavenly
Father who desperately cares! All is not lost! This too shall pass! Whether
in this life or the next, better days are coming! Days of healing, peace,
joy, contentment, life! His grace is sufficient for you and whatever you
struggle with! You are not forgotten; you are not alone; you have not
slipped through the cracks! Your life has meaning, purpose, and value
beyond what you can imagine!
In the books of Leviticus and Numbers God is outlining how He wants
the relationship between Himself and His people to look like. Most of it is
rules and regulations for worship, purity, and justice. While some of the
rules and regulations were abolished or made null in the coming of Jesus,
some were also fulfilled, enhanced and completed in His coming and the
relationship we now have with Him. In Numbers 6 God instructs the sons of
Aaron to bless the people and I believe these are verses we can hold on to
today as well! As a modern-day representative of God’s priestly covering
and blessing(your associate pastor), I quote, speak, and claim these verses
of blessing over you now as well!
“*Then the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons to bless the people
of Israel with this special blessing: ‘May the Lord bless you and protect
you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show
His favour and give you His peace.’ Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the
people of Israel in My name, I myself will bless them.”” *Numbers 6:22-27
As I am sure most of you are aware there have been a number of cases of
covid within our community recently. Some of which are also affecting
members of our body. While we do not believe there were any direct cases of
transmission through our gatherings, we thought it prudent to do what we
can to eliminate the possibility of creating such a scenario. In light of
that we have decided not to have any kind of service at the church for the
next couple Sunday’s. Pastor Dave or myself will be releasing a short
devotional video both weekends but may I encourage you take this
opportunity to dig deep in prayer and reading God’s word. Phone someone as
God lays them on your heart and just support, encourage and pray for them.
If there’s any way we can help or support you please, please reach out! Our
numbers are on the website!
Blessings, Pastor Mike
