Pastor Mike’s Garage April 23, 2020

This week a message from Pastor Mike.

Hey there, how are you doing these days? It’s interesting to me that in the
middle of a global pandemic, threatening most things that we hold near and
dear to our hearts(ie, our health, freedom, financial security,
recreational acitivities, social events and interaction) that when asked
how things are going the average person will still respond with our natural
preprogrammed repsonse “oh fine!” Yet given the chance through further
converstion most will admit that they have some worries, anxiety or

I make this disclaimer, this pastors garage is gonna be short and sweet!
Rather than giving you a hopefully inspirational newsletter I’m gonna get
you to listen to a album by Michael W. Smith. During a rather dark season
in my life, one where i was struggling with my failures, weaknesses,
identity, the goodness of God, and whether He really even had a plan for my
life, I came accross a album called” I’ll Lead You Home” by Michael W.
Smith produced in 1995. If you have it stuffed in a closet somewhere dig it
out. If you don’t I’ve put the Youtube link to the playlist for the album
at the bottom. It is probably one of my favorite albums of all time not
because it is that musically amazing or entertaining but rather because of
the role it played at that time and has continued to play at various times
since in bringing healing to many of the broken areas in my life and
thinking. No particular song stands out by itself but rather I would say
the album is a journey, each song connected to the next addressing some of
our fears and failures and refocusing our minds and hearts to the Fathers
love for us. It’s 35 minutes long, don’t multitask by having it play in the
background but rather set aside the time and intentionally listen to it as
a devtional without as much distraction as possible!

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that
by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
