The Pastor’s Garage April 11th, 2019

So this week I’ve got a bunch of things to keep on your radar. In some ways
I hate doing this because I feel like it is just more background noise
amidst all the other things going on in your life. However, I do know that
it needs to be done otherwise how will you know what is going on.

I will say this though. The things that I am sharing with you that we are
doing are coming from your Pastors. I’m not anything special (sorry mom),
but by God’s grace there is a mantle of leadership on our *leadership*. We
are not perfect but we do our best to hear what God is wanting for our
church and what we need going forward. Maybe, just maybe, God is wanting to
do something in your life over the next little while and maybe God wants to
use the church and what we are doing to do it. The church is actually God’s
plan A to bring wholeness and redemption to humanity. Maybe God has
something really big in store for you this year. So here is what is coming
up over the next little while.

– Area Wide Youth Service – this Friday (tomorrow) youth from all over
the district will descent upon our church for an area wide youth service.
Please pray that God would do awesome things.
– Second Saturday – Please come to the church at 7:00pm this Saturday
for our corporate prayer. We are going to be asking God to move in a mighty
way in May at our Deeper Life services.
– Good Friday – April 19th we will have our Easter contemplative
service. The church will be open from 9am to noon. Feel free to come and go
when you want and work through the stations at your own pace.
– Easter Sunday – April 21st we will have an Easter Celebration Service.
Balloons and Potluck. Need I say more?
– Baptism – There are at least three people interested in getting
baptised this year. We are looking at having the baptism at the lake during
our church camping weekend in June. If you are even remotely interested
please let me know. I will be speaking on Baptism in the next little while.
– Commissioning Service – This Sunday my dad will be speaking and we
will be having a time of prayer over Mike Zorn who has been a part-time
associate Pastor with us since January. Mike is going through the licensing
process with ACOP and I felt it would be great to have our District
Director (Dave Sr.) to commission Mike in his ministry. I believe this will
be a significant event.
– I am attaching an update from the Lapkas who we support as a church.
Please read it if you are interested.

Other than that please pray for the service and for the worship this
weekend.

God bless,

Dave
