The Pastor’s Garage February 14th, 2018

Happy Valentines Day. I hope you have shown some love to your Valentine. If not, you’ve got at least an hour to go get some flowers and there is always chocolate at the Petro Can. I was smart and got my flowers yesterday 🙂 In all seriousness though, even though it is a worldy holiday designed by Hallmark to sell more cards, use it! Redeem it! Today is the day God has made and if I’m reminded to appreciate the people in my life by a commercial, so be it. God’s in charge of today and all good things are from him!

An opportunity to get involved in our town over the next few weeks is volunteering in the canteen at the rink. I’m planning on volunteering this week at the Spitfires game on Saturday. There will be extra games at the end of the season here and volunteers and parents are getting tired. I can help you get connected with who is coordinating each week.

This weekend is our annual meeting. Annual reports and financial statements are in the church. Pop in tomorrow morning if you need one to peruse before the meeting. If you are a member, please try to plan to stay after the potluck (yes I said potluck so invite a friend and bring extra) to be present for it. It’s important that we have quorum for such a meeting.

This Sunday my sermon title is, "Are you a Keeper or a Sleeper?" from Matthew 26:36-46. I’d like you to listen to the Holy Spirit in preparation for this Sunday and ask the question, "What is God calling me to do?" Please allow God to begin to stir in your heart. Please pray for Rachel Drinnan as she leads our worship this weekend. I know she always appreciates prayer!

Pastor Lindsay is beginning a youth Alpha very soon. Here’s a promo video. Would you cover this in prayer and maybe nudge a youth in your life who could benefit from this.

That is all for now. God bless you and keep you.
