Jesus won.

Jesus wins.

Jesus is the answer.

His grace and love and power and purpose and plan is the solution to shame,
addiction, pain, suffering, loss and anything else you can fill in the
blanks with. The greatest thing we can do with our lives is to love him and
serve him and follow him and worship him with our whole hearts, minds and
soul.

“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in
Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power
and authority. In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not
performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off
when you were circumcised by Christ, having been buried with him in
baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the
working of God, who raised him from the dead.

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh,
God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled
the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned
us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the
powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over
them by the cross.” ~Colossian 2:9-15

Jesus you are awesome!

After some thinking and praying and listening, we feel it is the time to
return to a more “normal” service on Sundays. The current gathering format
was never a permanent solution, although I think it gave us a wonderful
taste of what times of prayer and intimacy and vulnerability in a group
gathering can look like and how powerful they can be. Without wanting to
lose that we are going to try a 20/20/20 format. 20 minutes of worship. 20
minutes of a message. 20 minutes of small group sharing and prayer – and
fellowship!

As before, we request that you please register for these services at
grenfellap.com/gathering-registration/

If things do fill up a few Sundays in a row we will open up another time
slot. I’m excited for the change and I hope that you are too. We will go
back to streaming our services again live. I know that for some of you the
quality is not great, but until we can get some better internet and figure
out a better camera or some other equipment, this is really the best we can
do. We will be looking into that in the weeks ahead. The live feed will
continue to be available at:

And just another word about small groups. There are still a few groups that
meet. Some in the church, others in other public spaces. Many of you who
are not in a group have experienced the intimacy and community of some of
our recent Sunday gatherings. Some of you were in small groups and then got
shut down because of the restrictions. I would encourage all of you to
consider joining or starting a small group. You can meet here at the church
or another space. It’s still possible!

Blessings,

Pastor Dave
