The Pastor’s Garage October 9th, 2020

Hi everyone,

I hope that you are well and that you are enjoying our amazing fall
weather. This weekend is Thanksgiving. I am not sure why but it
always seems to sneak up on me.

In light of Thanksgiving we are going to do something a little bit
different at our Sunday gathering. We will sing some familiar camp-style
songs and then I will share a very brief devotional thought with you. After
that, we are asking people to share something they are thankful for. It
could be as short as a sentence or two or as long as a couple minutes. So
between now and then, we’d like you to take some time to prepare or think
about what you might want to share. You could write it out or just come
with and idea in your mind.

I think this will be a really encouraging and life giving opportunity. As
it says in 1 Thess. 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build each
other up, just as in fact you are doing.” By sharing with us a word of
Thanksgiving, you will be building others up and by listening you can be
built up! This is definitely a time when we need a little encouragement and
building up.

On October 18th, we will be jumping back into the Realignment Series.
Starting at the beginning and working through it again. This series is a
great framework for starting a small group/home gathering – something that
we are really encouraging and will be talking more about as we move into
the fall. You can find more information about Realignment as well as
preview some of the videos on our website. I am also attaching a document I
have been working on that explains a bit more about small groups as well as
some guidelines for running or being a part of a small group.

The only other thing I wanted to mention is that we will be starting up
Firm Foundations again on October 18th. I know it’s been a long, long time
but I think it’s time to get started again. I am looking forward to getting
back into this content.

Other than that I am thankful for you and appreciate each one of you.

God bless,

Pastor Dave
