Pastors Garage Aug 15th, 2019

Well at the risk of depressing some of you, its hard to believe summer is 3/4 over already! WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE!!!! I see the odd combine blowing some dust, the evenings are getting a little bit longer, and the flies are definitely in full fall pester mode!
Today, actually this whole week, was one of those times were I spent it running around doing a multitude of things yet I’m not sure if I really accomplished anything! As I sit down to write this I’m a little bit frustrated how little I got done this week. A familiar passage from 1 Corinthians came to mind. “24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.” 1Corinthians 9:24-27. But as I look over those verses and analyze the week I did get some good visitation in, got to pray and hopefully encourage some people. I may not have accomplished a lot in the worlds eyes, but the week definitely wasn’t a write off in the spiritual realm! The real question is what race are we focusing on? They are both important, one pays the bills, keeps you warm, fed, gas in the tank and allows for some leisure! The other race has eternal implications that effect the very courts of heaven and gates of hell! I want to encourage you as you close out the summer, yes take time for yourself, be diligent and disciplined to get done what needs be done, but do not overlook, trivialise or negate the most important of races!
Please pray for Neil Theisen as he shares this Sunday, please pray for Sheila Peters as she gives a testimony, and pray for Rachel Kardash as she leads us in worship!

Run the race well!
