Pastor’s Garage January 1, 2022

Happy New Year! It’s the beginning of a new day and the beginning of a new
year and the very first Pastor’s Garage of 2022.

I just talked to Pastor Mike and he is recovering from his hip surgery
which went well. Thank you to everyone who has been asking about him and
praying for him. He wanted to encourage you to watch this video, and said
“God is faithful! In the good times and in the lowest of times!”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iILJ2gy_IcA. Please continue to pray for
Pastor Mike as he recovers from his surgery.

Tomorrow morning I will be preaching from Isaiah 28:14-19. It’s a bit of an
ominous passage but I think it’s fitting for a start to 2022. It really
challenges us with the question… who do you put your trust in or who or
what is your foundation? Please pray for me as I share and also please pray
for Rachel Kardash and her team as they lead worship.

One really can’t predict where this year will go. That’s true always but
it’s especially true in light of the last two years. Regardless I believe
that God is in absolute control and that he is watching over us and leading
us and I think that he has led us to this spot for such a time as this!
Here are some things to look forward and that are burning on my heart.

– January 9th will be a very special service. Instead of a sermon we
will be watching an excellent video put together by ACOP on the history of
our fellowship. It’s not just history… it’s inspiring, motivational and I
think it gives us a picture of where we are going. Please don’t miss it.
– I’ve had a dream about House Church for sometime and will be talking
and preaching more about it in the New Year. One of the ways I plan on
helping facilitate this is through introducing a tool called Discovery
Bible Study or DBS. It’s a way of studying and reading the bible and
walking in discipleship that is simple, profound and easily teachable. I
can’t wait to show it to you. I think it will fill in many of the “missing
pieces” of House Church.
– Youth. I will be starting an after school youth program in the New
Year using DBS. I need help. If God is putting this on your heart please
let me know.
– Jacob Bear Community Church (JBCC) – I know I have not talked too much
about this yet, but very soon I will be sharing more on the developing
partnership with JBCC. I think this is going to be an amazing opportunity
for us to develop and grow as a church.

Other than that. God bless you as we head into 2022. We don’t know what the
future holds, but we know the one who holds the future.

Pastor Dave
