The Pastor’s Garage

Welcome back everyone. The garage has been quiet for a few days. Well, sort
of.

I hope that you are having some good days so far this summer and I hope
that you are making the needed time to enjoy God and to enjoy what he has
created.

We had a great week out at camp last week. Very little sleep, lots of
campfires, days in the sun and sand, bouncy castles, mosquito bites, doing
gratis and enjoying being together and enjoying God’s word and enjoying
worship and enjoying God’s presence. Phew. It was a good week.

This week I’ll be speaking on “Watch What You Speak” from Ephesians
4:29-30. Please pray for God’s strength and anointing. Also, would you
please uphold Mike and his worship team as they lead this Sunday.

On the 29th after the service we’ll be having a time of blessing for
Lindsay and Stacey. Please bring some finger food to share. We’ll provide
juice and coffee. Also, in the evening on the 29th we’ll be having another
hymn sing. Bring your instruments.

Just for your information. Liz and I plan on taking holidays this summer
from August 6th to around the 23rd. If you need spiritual care during that
time, please contact one of the elders.

Other than that, I hope you have a great weekend. Stay cool and stay safe.

God bless,

Pastor Dave

Can you believe it. I have survived a whole week (almost) without Liz! The
kids have clean clothes and have been eating healthy (for the most part)
meals. Only one meal did I hear them say, “That’s it?” I sure miss Liz and
will be glad to see her tomorrow night. If you need me after that I will be
at the spa for a week recuperating. I’m kidding! My oldest son has really
been helpful. He’s an amazing kid.

Only a couple things to mention this week. Springside Family Camp starts
next week. I’d encourage you to make it out to camp on the 15th for the
Sunday morning service. We won’t have a service her that Sunday.

On July 29th we’ll be having a time of food and fellowship after the
service as we say goodbye to Lindsay and Stacey. Please come prepared with
an encouraging card or note. If you feel led, we’d encourage you to bless
them with a financial gift as well.

This Sunday I’ll be preaching from Acts 12:18-24 and about how God’s word
will flourish no matter what! Stacey will be leading this Sunday, so please
be in prayer for her and her team as well.

God bless,

Dave

Last weekend we were out on our father-son campout and I had to get up in
the night at one point and while I was out of the tent in the middle of the
night I looked up at the stars and the moon. For a moment I felt so small.
I thought, “I am just a little piece of dust in this universe…. and yet,
I have a heavenly father who *knows* me and *loves* me!” It’s an amazing
thought isn’t it? That God *knows *me. He knows everything about me,
including my faults and my fears and he cares about me- that I matter to
him! Wow. Deep stuff. It was a profound moment and I felt God’s presence in
a very real way.

The father-son thing was awesome and several people have asked me about a
father-daughter event. If someone has this on their heart and would like to
run with it, please get in touch with me and we’ll make it happen.

This weekend Stacey Mitchell is speaking. I am really looking forward to
you hearing what God is putting on her heart. Please pray for her. Pray
that God would anoint and strengthen her as she prepares. Please also lift
up Rachel as she prepares this week. It’s going to be a great weekend.

Camp is happening next month! Springside! God has used it to change many
lives and affect many people in our churches history. Come on out to camp
this summer. It’s going to be a great week. And just to put it on your
radar. June 15th we will be out at camp. There will be no regular Sunday
service here. Please make your way out to camp for the service on Sunday
morning.

Finally, please be in prayer for Liz and her family. Liz will be traveling
back to Pennsylvania tomorrow to attend her Grandma’s funeral. Mason will
go along. She was a Godly spunky lady who will be missed.

God bless. We love and appreciate you all.

(Just to let you know. We had some trouble with our website and the Pastor’s garage was not posting properly for a few weeks. We think that we have that all sorted out now).

Hey everyone,

I hope you are having a good week. Liz and I were privileged to take in
most of the ACOP Biennial conference being held in Regina over the past few
days. God was moving in a powerful way and it was very encouraging. Liz and
I both felt a powerful move of the Holy Spirit in our lives. I’d encourage
*you* to check out some of the sessions which can be found on ACOPs website
here (www.acop.ca/live/). I am not sure how long the sessions will
be available, so take them in when you can. There is so much that was
impactful that I can’t pinpoint just one thing that really spoke to me but
if I had to pick one thing it was the statement, “find ways to increase
your redemptive capacity.” If we as a church are going to impact the world,
we need to enlarge our tent (Isaiah 54) and find ways to bring Christ’s
redemptive message to all.

On our drive up to Regina and back, Liz and I found a couple songs l’d like
to share with you. It’s a group called For King and Country- which I’ve
never heard of. One is called Joy (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-r7ogDaaEQ) which is just a fun song, and
the other is called Shoulders (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5NnzYK5tFA),
which brings me to tears (don’t tell anyone). I love the line in that song,
“your forgiveness is my fortress.” I hope you enjoy.

If you have time, please read Hebrews 9-10 for this week’s sermon. We’ll be
finishing up our series on the tabernacle. I am attaching a handout in case
you are the digital type or you want to print it out for yourself. However,
I’ll also be handing it out Sunday. Please be in prayer for our service.
Pray for me. Pray for Rachel as she leads the worship.

God bless,

Pastor Dave
